About Alexander Voitsekhovsky: Dr Alexander Voitsekhovsky was born in Moscow in 1964. The grandson of a polar explorer, who died in the Siege of Leningrad, the artist currently lives in St Petersburg. Prior to becoming a well-known artist he spent ten years working as a doctor with the emergency services. As a medical student he started to draw – at lectures, on the train, in shop queues and gave his sketches to his friends. In 1994, his friends held an exhibition of the pictures Voitsekhovsky had gifted them. Since then he has had 25 solo exhibitions in Russia, the USA, France, Japan and Switzerland.
